Oracle rac ocr and voting disk management tips. For more information, see.

The Oracle Cluster Registry (OCR) file is a key component of CRS. Used to maintain information about High Availability components in the Cluster. For example, the Cluster node list, the CRS ing from the Cluster database Instance to the node, and the list of CRS application resources (such as Services and virtual internal Link Protocol addresses ).

Voting disk manages cluster members by determining the cluster owner between multiple processes through health check and network failure. RAC's Voting rights use the disk, to determine which processes are members of a cluster.

The OCR configuration file can be queried in two ways:

Use the ocrcheck command

/U01/oracle/home @ webdb1 => servdb1 $ ocrcheck
Status of Oracle Cluster Registry is as follows:
Version: 2
Total space (kbytes): 1003760
Used space (kbytes): 7016
Available space (kbytes): 996744
ID: 1292524385
Device/File Name:/dev/raw/raw1
Device/File integrity check succeeded

Device/File not configured

Cluster registry integrity check succeeded

Query ocr. loc File Content

/U01/oracle/home @ webdb1 => servdb1 $ cat/etc/oracle/ocr. loc
Ocrconfig_loc =/dev/raw/raw1
Local_only = FALSE

In the OCR configuration file, the RAC system will automatically back up data. You can use ocrconfig to query the automatic backup status, or use it to manually back up data.
/U01/oracle/home @ webdb1 => servdb1 $ ocrconfig-showbackup

Webdb1 2012/06/29 13:20:58/u01/oracle/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/crs/cdata/crs

Webdb1 2012/06/29 09:20:58/u01/oracle/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/crs/cdata/crs

Webdb1 2012/06/29 05:20:57/u01/oracle/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/crs/cdata/crs

Webdb1 01:21:01/u01/oracle/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/crs/cdata/crs

Webdb1 2012/06/27 05:21:00/u01/oracle/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/crs/cdata/crs
/U01/oracle/home @ webdb1 => servdb1 $

Use crsctl to query the voting disk configuration file:
/U01/oracle/home @ webdb1 => servdb1 $ crsctl query css votedisk
0. 0/dev/raw/raw2

Located 1 votedisk (s ).

Voting disk is an arbitration mechanism. It saves Temporary Information and does not need to be backed up. It will be overwritten even after the formatting system is restarted.
