A VR game was recently tested, so the HTC Vive and Oculus two glasses were selected on the hardware device. In contrast, the HTC installation is more user-friendly: it supports a custom installation path and can change the application download location in the interface:
This saves me a lot of system disk space! But Oculus installation personal feeling a bit disgusting, by default installed on the C drive and can not be modified. It may have been STEAMVR before, So directly with ModuoVR.exe installation of a variety of problems, forced to simply use OculusSetup.exe online installation (this process a bit painful), installed or in the C drive, the key store settings options did not find the download path modification related, so I want to download the game should also be stored in the C disk. You got it? A game is the capacity of the 3g+, for the general only about 50G users that can not play a new game, uninstall the old game?
Have to find another way, how to move the location of the downloaded game in the store to another disk with large storage space? Really found a good method, the specific implementation steps are as follows:
1.Ctrl + Alt + DEL key combination open Task Manager, locate Ovrservice in the "services" item and right-click to stop the service
2. Find your own Oculus installation directory, usually installed by default in C:\Program Files\oculus or C:\Program Files (X86) \oculus (This depends on the number of system bits). Cut the Downloads and software two folders under the Oculus directory to the location you want to install, such as the F drive. Why cut the past? Because both folders cannot exist at the same time, and the Oculus related run program is closed before the cut operation to ensure that the operation can be performed
3. After this step, create a join via the Mklink link feature, which allows you to rebind the game download path. Open command Prompt (Administrator) by using win + X to enter the following command:
mklink/j "C:\Program files\oculus\downloads" "F:\program Files (x86) \oculus\downloads" (Note that there is a space in the middle of the two segment quotation marks)
mklink/j "C:\Program files\oculus\software" "F:\program Files (x86) \oculus\software"
The path of the F-drive is set by me, so we have to modify it according to our own situation. command input completed after execution will prompt C:\Program files\oculus\downloads << ===>> F:\program Files (x86) \oculus\downloads Create the join, description to complete the path rebinding operation.
4. The default path modification is basically done, don't forget to turn ovrservice on ~
Finally, two graphs are attached to prove that the operation is feasible:
Waiting for the download tomorrow, experience! ~ ~ ~
