The Office 2013 Customer preview has been released and Microsoft has also announced that it no longer supports Windows XP and Vista systems. Another thing that most people don't notice is that Office 2013 no longer supports Exchange 2003.

Exchange 2003 was released in August 2003 and is now nearly 10 years old, so it is no surprise that Microsoft no longer supports the product. If you're still using Exchange 2003, it's best to upgrade.

A user on the Microsoft Official website asked if Outlook 2013 was unable to support Exchange 2003 SP2, and the official answer was: Yes, it (Outlook 2013) supports POP3 and IMAP, but no longer supports Exchange 2003.
