Microsoft Office Picture Manager is a photo management software from office 2007 that we can use to easily organize, edit, and share pictures. Microsoft's position with Picture Manager is clear, which is to replace other similar image management software, you can use it to replace ACDSee.
On the functional side, the author does not think that Picture Manager is stronger than ACDSee, but it can at least complete our basic image browsing needs, and the software is closely integrated with other Office programs, so it is definitely worth using.
First, the basic introduction of software
Click on the System "Start Menu" → "program" → "Microsoft Office" → "Microsoft Office Tools" → "Microsoft Office picture Manager" to start the program. Entering the main software window, you can see that it uses a more traditional three-bar layout pattern, as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1
Picture Manager uses a more specific approach to image file management: "Picture Shortcuts." General programs, such as ACDSee, browse files directly using the folder tree, and in Picture Manager to view pictures in a folder, you must manually add a picture shortcut to that folder. That is, no pictures will appear in the software until you manually add a picture shortcut.
Note: click "file" → "find picture", the software will automatically create a picture shortcut to make it easier for you to access the picture.
When the new picture shortcuts are added to the software, we can see the picture preview. The software provides three view modes: Thumbnail view, slide view, and single picture view. Looking at the diagram feature, the Picture Manager only meets the simplest viewing purposes, does not even provide a full-screen view, and the slide view does not support AutoPlay.
Of course, Picture Manager's biggest advantage is not looking at the map, but with the entire Office system integration features, we will detail below.
Second, picture file management
The picture Manager does not have much control over the image, and we can implement batch renaming and image property viewing in the software (to support viewing EXIF for digital photos).
1. Picture Batch Renaming
Select the picture you want to rename, click the task pane on the right side of the main window, and select Rename in the Drop-down menu, as shown in Figure 2.
Figure 2
The batch renaming feature provided by the software implements the principle of simplicity, provides only a number of sequential renaming, but is also quite flexible and provides a rename preview feature that fully meets the basic needs, as shown in Figure 3.

2. View picture information
The feature switch in Picture Manager is achieved by switching the commands in the Tasks pane. After selecting the picture, we click the task pane and select Properties from the Drop-down menu.
Picture size, size, resolution, color depth and other data at a glance. If it is a digital photo, camera model, color mode, flash mode, focal length, aperture and other information can be easily viewed, such as Figure 4.
