① failure prompt: The service cannot update one or more protected Windows files.

② Press the Win+r key, enter Services.msc, OK.

③ Find the Windows Installer service and start it.

④ the XP system installation disk to the CD drive to locate the Fp40ext.cab under the I386 directory in the Windows installation CD.

⑤ copies the Fp40ext.cab to the C:Program filescommon filesmicrosoft sharedweb server Extensions40bin and extracts it to this directory.

⑥ Office 2007 can be a perfect solution to the problem.
