1. Function Description

The onstat application function is to read the shared memory structure and provide statistics on the instant when the command is executed. The shared memory content may change when onstat displays the output. The operation does not block the shared memory, so the operation will not be affected. It is an interactive system monitoring tool provided by Informix.

You can use onstat at a shell prompt to get a simple prompt.
Syntax:
Onstat [-abcdfghklmpstuxzbcdfrx] [-I] [-r seconds] [-o file] [infile]
The main options are described as follows:
-A: print all information.
-B: displays the buffer in use.
-B shows all the buffers (not only in use)
-C: displays the content of the onconfig file. The database first checks whether you have defined the environment variable onconfig. If yes, the database displays the content of the $ Informix/etc/$ onconfig file. If not defined, the content of the $ Informix/etc/onconfig file is displayed. This file contains the definitions and settings required by many systems.
-C: displays the condition that B + tree cleaner is cleared (B + tree cleaner ).
-D: displays the chunk information of each data space (dbspace ).
-D: displays the read/write status of the first 50 pages in each data space.
-F displays the statistics of each type of write-back disk (flush pages to disk ).
-H: displays information about the hash chain buffer.
-I: The onstat interaction mode. You can directly press the onstat command and press Ctrl-D to exit the interaction mode.
-K: displays information about the active lock.
-L displays physical and logical logs.
-M: displays the system information logs recently used by 20 systems.
-O file writes the content of the current shared memory segment to the specified file. The default value is onstat. Out.
-P: displays statistics.
-R seconds periodically executes the onstat command in the specified number of seconds. The default value is 5 seconds. You can use the Ctrl-C or DEL key to stop the command.
-R: displays detailed information about LRU, flru, and mlru queues.
-T: displays the active table space (tblspace) information.
-U: displays user information
-X: displays transaction information.
-X: displays the precise information of the threads that are sharing and waiting for the buffer.
-Z: Set all statistics to 0.
