Brush the OpenWrt into the router

To use OpenWrt on a router, you first need to refresh the router firmware to OpenWrt, which is equivalent to OPENWRT system installation, and different models of routers may be installed differently, but generally there are three ways to do it:
1.Web Upload firmware update (that is, the firmware update for router settings or admin interface)
2.PFTP Upload firmware update (the simplest is HFS)
3. Programmer write firmware (different from both of the firmware)
The specific model of the router is applicable to which or several methods, you need to try.

start using OpenWrt

There are generally two ways to configure a openwrt:
1.SSH login is controlled by command line
2.WEB login through the Web interface settings

After you install OpenWrt for the first time, you need to set a password to use SSH logon by using Telnet logon or Web login to set the password. Telnet and SSH logins under Windows can use Putty, and the following commands can be used under Linux or Mac respectively:
Ssh–l Root 192.168.1.1//linux
Ssh–l root@192.168.1.1//mac

Generic directives are the same as common Linux distributions, but OpenWrt uses its own package Manager: Opkg to view help information using "Opkg–help". Here are some common operations commands:
OPKG Update//update package list
Opkg Install//Online installation package
opkg Remove//removal package
Login Web Management interface, the premise is that the OPENWRT system to install the Web interface, is generally Luci, log in the same way as ordinary routers, open the browser, enter the router IP can enter the login interface, openwrt default IP is 192.168.1.1.

By this, OpenWrt's door has been opened for you. Next, start to try to use OpenWrt to realize more intelligent applications, such as the number of odd numbers to squeeze operator bandwidth, binding domain remote control, mount large-capacity hard drives, build BT download machine, build webcam, Samba/dlna home nas share, Private cloud synchronization, FTP, personal website/server ...
