With the advent of window-type operating system, some new concepts have emerged, such as desktop, superscript, taskbar, status bar, buttons and so on.
1. Desktop and icon of the initial concept
When you run Windows, the actions are done on the desktop. The so-called desktop, refers to the entire screen space, that is, when running Windows, users see the screen. The desktop is shared by multiple tasks. To avoid confusion, each task displays its actions and operations through its own window, so Windows allows multiple windows to appear at the same time on the desktop.
The so-called window is a rectangular area on the screen. The application (including Wen Yu) can show the user through the window the various services that the system can provide and the information that the user needs to lose; The user can see through the icon in the window and manipulate the application or document.
In a character-oriented window, icons are not provided. In a graphics-oriented window, an icon is an important element in the graphical user interface. An icon is a small image representing an object, such as an icon representing a folder or program. You can open the appropriate application by double-clicking the icon.
2. Common icons on the desktop
Depending on the operating system type and version, there are also a few different icons on the left side of the desktop. For example, the following icons are common on Windows version of the desktop (as shown in the following illustration).
(1) "My Computer". When you double-click this icon, the My Computer window appears on your desktop, and all of the resources on the user's computer appear in the window, so you can view and manage the resources of the local computer through this window. For example, open and view the resources on the hard disk, copy, move and delete files and folders, and configure the computer's hardware and software environment, including configuring printers, dial-up networking, and so on.
(2) "Recycle Bin". Used to temporarily delete files and folders deleted by the user so that they can be recovered if needed. In fact, when a user deletes a file (folder) on the hard disk, the contents of the file (folder) are not actually purged, but are moved to the Recycle Bin. When the user double-clicks the Recycle Bin icon, you can open the Recycle Bin window and see the deleted file or folder that was saved in the Recycle Bin. Users can restore files (folders) that have been mistakenly deleted to their original folder by doing the right things.
(3) "My Documents". For the convenience of users to store their own paper scoop, the special set up the "My Documents" icon for users to store their own established folders and files.
(4) Internet explored is referred to as IE). It is a world Wide Web browser developed by Microsoft and is one of the most heavily played software in Internet applications. After the user's computer has successfully connected to an Internet service provider ISP, you can double-click the 1E icon to navigate through the Web page information on the Internet.
(5) Outlook Expresso This is the e-mail application software that is launched by Microsoft Corporation. After the user's computer and ISP 迮 succeed, double-click the Outlook Express icon to further connect to your ISP's e-mail server. Once the connection is successful, you can send e-mail and receive e-mail.
(6) "Network Neighborhood". If a user's computer is connected to a local area network, users can easily use the icon to share resources from other computers on the local area network. When you double-click the Network Places icon, the Network Neighborhood window appears, and you can see that every computer and device connected to the local area network has an icon in that window. If a user wants to use a laser printer that is configured on one of the computers, double-click the icon for that computer, and then locate the laser printer that you want to use on the shared device that is available on that computer.
3. "Start" button and taskbar
At the bottom left of the Windows desktop, the Start button and taskbar are set, so long as the system is running (unless you select the Auto hide taskbar option), you can see it at the bottom of the screen.
(1) "Start" button. The Start button is located on the left side of the taskbar. When you click the Start button with the left mouse button, you can open a Start menu that includes tools and applications commonly used by users, such as program options, document options, settings options, and more. Therefore, you can use the Start button to run a program. If you right-click the Start button, a shortcut menu opens, including the Explorer option. In addition, you should shut down Windows before shutting down the machine, which is also a single (left) hit Start button, and then click the Shut Down (U) option in the menu.
(2) taskbar. The purpose of setting up the taskbar is to help users quickly start frequently used programs and easily switch between current programs. Therefore, the taskbar contains several common application small icons, also known as the system tray. such as the Input Method small icon, control volume small icon, indicating wooden connection of small icons. In order to facilitate the switching between tasks, all the tasks that have been run and have not yet been closed have their corresponding small scales in the taskbar. Therefore, if a user wants to run one of these programs, simply click the Small icon that represents the program, and the program's window will appear on the screen.
(3) How the taskbar is hidden. The size of the taskbar on the desktop can be adjusted to suit the needs of the user. The taskbar can always be fully visible on the screen, and no matter how the window is switched or moved, the taskbar cannot be overwritten. Of course, this makes the taskbar occupy a certain amount of available screen space. If the user wants to widen the free space on the screen as much as possible, you can also choose how the taskbar can be hidden, at this time, the taskbar is not really eliminated, but temporarily invisible on the screen, correspondingly, at the bottom of the screen will leave a white line, when the user needs the thousand bar, only to move the mouse to this white line, the taskbar will immediately appear, When the mouse leaves the line, the taskbar is hidden again.
