Oracle 11g modifies the rac scan ip address in 11gR2 and introduces the SCAN (Single Client Access Name) feature. The advantage of this feature is that between the database and the Client, A virtual service layer is added, that is, the scan ip address and scan ip listener. on the client side, you only need to configure the tns information of the scan ip address and connect to the backend cluster database through the scan ip listener. In this way, no matter whether or not the cluster database has added or deleted nodes, it will not affect the client. When a client application accesses the database using the SCAN ip address, the scan listener forwards the connection to the local listener.

The ip information related to the SCAN ip address is initialized when the SCAN resource is created. Without GNS: any changes to SCAN in DNS and/etc/hosts will not be automatically synchronized to Clusterware, but will be manually updated. The following describes how to modify the scan ip Address:

1. view the status information of the scan ip Address:
