pc/104 is a specially designed for embedded Control-defined industrial control bus,  is a derivative product of PC bus in embedded applications, a stack-type structure, widely popular in the world,  is defined by IEEE Association as ieee-p996.1. We know that ieee-p996 is pc/xt and pc/. At Industrial bus specifications,  and from pc/104 is defined as ieee-p996.1 , it can be seen that the pc/104 bus is essentially a compact, miniaturized ieee-p996. The bus signal definition and pc/at are basically consistent, But the electrical and mechanical specifications are completely different, is an optimized, miniaturized,  stack-type embedded control system. Compared to PCI and PCI Express on a common computer, it is defined as pc/104plus (or PCI-104) in the pc/104 embedded computer respectively. and Pci/104 Express (or Pc/104 Express) was drafted by Mr. Felix Kunz for the PC/104 Association in 2006, defining a new generation of pc/104-based pci/104express bus specifications, was formally recognized as one of the IEEE bus specifications in the first quarter of 2008 as an international standard.

The pc/104 has two versions, 8-bit and 16-bit buses, which correspond to the PC/XT and pc/at of ordinary PCs respectively, with valid signals identical to PC/XT and pc/at, sometimes referred to as pc/104 ISA bus, 8-bit pc/104 in two versions of the pc/bus 104 Bus, a total of 64 bus pins (single row double row Pins and jacks), 16-bit bus for (64+40=) 104 Bus pins (double row dual-line pins and jacks), the effective signal line and control line is fully compatible with "Pc/xt" and "Pc/at". Pc/104plus (also known as pc/104+), corresponds to the PCI bus, and is sometimes referred to as the pc/104 PCI bus. In the real sense Pc/104plus bus products should include both ISA and PCI two bus, and the product that only contains the PCI part is called PCI-104. But based on the historically established term, we usually call the PCI bus on the pc/104 board also known as Pc/104plus, Pc/104plus (PCI-104) is a single row of three rows of 120 bus pins, The effective signal line and the control line are fully compatible with the PCI bus. Like our computers, a computer board can have both a pc/at and a PCI bus, while a pc/104 CPU module can have both pc/104 and Pc/104plus bus
pci/104 Express corresponds to Pci-express (PCIE) and PCI dual-bus, sometimes referred to as the PCI express+ PCI bus on the pc/104, in the true sense pci/104- Express bus products should include both PCI and pci-express two bus, and will only contain pci-express part of the product called pcie/104, pcie/104 is a high-speed serial bus, there are 20 PCI Express internal bus channels ( Lane), a 150-core high-density stacking bus connector connects each pc/104 with an express bus. Like our computers, a general-purpose hi-speed computer motherboard can have both a PCI and a PCIe bus, a pci/104 Express CPU module can also have PCI-104 and pcie/104 two bus simultaneously in the board, a new generation of pci/104-express products pcie/104 on board occupy the original pc/104 (ISA) position, that is, the next generation of pc/ 104 Express products include PCI-104 (PCI) and pcie/104, but no longer have the pc/104 (ISA) bus.
