Photoshop creates an abstract rainbow effect

In this tutorial, we'll create a beautiful abstract rainbow background in Photoshop with simple steps. Let's get started!

Final effect

Create a new file (Ctrl + N) with a size of 1920px X 1200px (RGB color mode) and 72 pixels in Adobe Photoshop. Then select the Paint Bucket tool (G) to fill the background layer with black.

Next, we will select the rectangular tool (U) to draw many different sizes of colored lines. The color is shown in the following image:

We get the following lines:

Using the same tool, continue to draw the color line, see the following figure (line spacing is the same as shown in the following figure).

Use the same rectangular tool (U) to draw more lines.

To add a layer style to these lines, click the Add Layer style icon at the bottom of the Layers panel to select the gradient overlay:

Click the color bar to open the gradient editor and set the color shown in the image below. Click OK to close the Gradient Editor dialog box.

Draw two other lines:

Use the same settings to paint these lines, layer styles > Gradient overlays:

Draw more lines, repeat the beat, and get a look like this:

Next, we'll combine these colored line layers into one group (press CTRL to select the line layers, and then hold down the left mouse button to drag the selected layer to the option to create a new group). Press CTRL + E to merge the layer groups down, and next we need to bend the layers. Press CTRL + T to select Free transform, and use the control point to distort the line as shown in the following illustration:

Repeat the same step beat to draw more of the cold tone lines (on the new layer):

The lines are then merged into a set and curved:

Add Layer styles > Projections to this line layer:

Create a new layer and then in the Brush tool (B) Select a soft black round brush (opacity 20%)

Use this soft brush to deepen the top and bottom edges of the line layer we first made, placing this layer in the middle of the line layer, as shown below:

Create a new layer again and select the soft, round brush (opacity 20%) that we used before to deepen it, see figure below:

Set the blending mode of this layer to overlay:

Click on the bottom of the layers panel to create a new fill or adjustment layer, adjust the curve, and adjust the curve shape to add more contrast to the image as shown in the following figure:
