In this tutorial I will show you how to add some lace to the alphabet to create a great lace text effect.

In this tutorial I will show you how to add some lace to the alphabet to create a great lace text effect.

Step 1
The first thing is to find the elements we want to use. There are a lot of sites we can find a good vector, such as here: ~ http://cameronmoll.com/archives/2008/05/25_resources_ornaments_fleurons/after a search, I used this vector: (note: The original vector file has been lost so there is no link).

Step 2
Open Photoshop to create a new document. I used the 1680 x 1050 pixel size to do the background. After that, type the Abduzeedo letter and go to the Layer > Layer style > Gradient overlay. Use red, yellow, green, bright blue color. I use the font is Futura (what font is OK I like it).

Step 3 (Don't know why there's one more step down, 3-_-!. )
Let's start by mixing the vectors on the letters. First of all, you must find the letters you want to decorate properly. Then you have to put it in the right place so that it follows the shape of the letter. In the image below you can see the embellishment we made to "a".

Step 3
After the letters are dotted, it's time to add some depth. Let's use the layer style to do this. Go to layers > Layer styles > projections. Using a multiply-stacked blending mode and black, opacity 100%, Angle 60%, distance of 5 pixels, size 5 pixels. (pictured below)

Step 4
Here, we're going to create a new layer from the layer style shadow. Go to layers > Layer styles > Create layers. So you have a shadow layer now.

Step 5
Now apply the mask on the shadow layer that you already have. Go to layer > Layer Mask > Show all. Then select the Brush Tool (B). Color with black, brush diameter is 45 pixels, 0% hardness. Then just smear it on the mask to cover up some of the shadows.

Step 6
Repeat these steps for the other letters. However, there is no need to do this for every letter. I just did a, B, D, Z, E, D, and O. Then select the decoration and the text layer, and put them together as a group and rename the group to "logo." Tip: Each decorative pattern of color to the letter with the color to maintain a perfect gradient over.

Step 7
Let's add some texture images below. You can hide the other layers. We can find the texture background here. Download the vintage II pack and put the "vintage10.jpg" image (note: There is no way to find this picture where the students can substitute a different background) put it in the document. Since the image is 1500 pixels and the document is 1680 pixels, you need to copy the image to fill the remainder of the document. After that, go to image > Adjust > Hue/Saturation. Use Hue 49, saturation 19, brightness +35.

Step 8
Download "15_textures__art___vintage_by_jocosity" package (TMD where to download Ah, I didn't find a stuffy-_-! Students find other pictures instead of it, put "textur2.jpg" into the document. Then change the blending mode to overlay, go to image > Adjust > Hue/Saturation. Use hue +2, saturation-41, lightness-75.

Step 9
Download the "Old_paper_textures_by_lailomeiel" package and put "DSC02679." JPG is placed in the document. It will cover other textures, so we need to change its blending mode for color dodge. Now, select all of the texture layers and merge them. Rename Group to textures.

Step 10
Select "Logo" layer group, go to layer > Merge group. This translates the layers and all the things in the group into a single layer group. Then go to layer > Layer style > projection. Use color dodge blending mode, opacity 100%, Angle-60, distance and size 5px.

Step 11
Copy the "Texture" layer group and change the blending mode of the "paper" Layer to overlay. Merge groups to create a single layer. Change the order of the layers and place the new texture layer on top of the logo layer. Then go to layer > create a clipping mask and change the blending mode to multiply the bottom. Copy the texture layer again to make sure it still has a clipping mask. Then, just change the blending mode to overlay.

Step 12
Merge the Logo layer with two texture clipping mask layers. Copy groups, merged into a single layer. Then go to filter > Blur > Gaussian blur. Using a radius of 4.5 pixels, change the blending mode to the screen and 80% opacity.

Conclusion
In this tutorial, we learned how to mix some vector pattern elements in the text to make a good lace text effect. We also combine textures and clipping masks to make our images look less "clean". You can create a lot of different effects oh. (The whole tutorial is not clear where you can leave a message)
