1.Photoshop CS2 Deformation conversion
New Transformations > Variants command in Photoshop CS2
Photoshop CS2 has added a transform type called transformation (WARP) in the Edit > Transform menu. With the new variants command you can convert layers to multiple preset shapes, or drag images using custom options. All of this works in the document window, so you don't need to learn new dialog boxes like the liquefaction command. The variants are similar to those found in the tools of the word-fan, arched, convex, shell, flag, fish, wave, increase, fisheye, swell, squeeze and twist.
2. Deformation bending Banner
In this picture, I use the banner preset and only adjust the number of bends, so the effect is not very bad.
3. Deformation-expansion and custom deformation
In this example I first use the expansion preset and then switch to the custom, pulling the control handle in the deformable grid to further exaggerate the deformation effect.
4. Complete deformation conversion
When you submit the conversion, the grid line disappears and you can see my deformed face on the balloon.
5. Deformation Layer Fit shape
In Adobe's example, you can see how the layers are bent to fit the iron cans. The layer mask and the multiply blending modes even make the transformations appear smooth and seamless.
