Photoshop CS version of the lens Blur (lens blur) filter, can imitate the effect of shallow depth of view. The virtual background of the photos taken by the consumption-level DC is only three steps in all processes:

STEP1: Open the photo, use lasso tool to select the clear subject to retain (I used to use the magnetic lasso tool, think it is faster), check the selected, press the "Shift+ctrl+i" key combination of the reverse selection (Figure 1).

STEP2: Press Q to enter the quick mask mode, and then select the Gradient tool, set the "mode" for "linear deepening", "opacity" can be based on the need to blur the position of the gradient area flexible adjustment.
