Text effects are widely used in many areas and are a concern for many Photoshop enthusiasts. Today we're going to make a clay word special effect.
The specific steps are as follows.
1. Create a new document, size, and fill the background with dark gray. Enter the text and choose a suitable font that you can choose according to your preferences. For example, as shown in Figure 1, an English font with a curved effect is used.

2. Press and hold the CTRL key while you click the text layer, load the selection, and then click the Edit in Quick Mask button (or press the shortcut key Q) below the toolbox to enter and quickly mask edit mode, as shown in Figure 2.

3. Select menu command "filter | twist | Glass", open the Glass Filter dialog box, set the options as shown in Figure 3, and do not close the dialog box when finished.

4. In the lower right corner of the dialog box, there is a new effect Layer small button, click it, add a new effect layer, then select plastic effects from the top effect list, and set the options as shown in Figure 4. Set Finish Click OK.

5. Press Q to exit the quick mask mode, and you should get a selection as shown in Figure 5.

6. Create a new layer and fill it with white, as shown in Figure 6. Press Ctrl+d to cancel the selection.

7. Click the Add Layer Style button below the Layer palette, click the Add Layer Style button in the pop-up menu, open the Layer Style dialog box, and set the inner glow layer style as shown in Figure 7.

Set the bevel and Emboss layer style as shown in Figure 8.

Set the color overlay layer style as shown in Figure 9.

Setup finished click OK to see the effect shown in Figure 10.

8. Use the Oval selection tool to draw an elliptical selection, as shown in Figure 11.

9. Press Q to enter the quick mask mode, apply the previous filter according to the above method, and then press Q to exit the quick mask mode and get the selection as shown in Figure 12.

10. Create a new layer, fill it with any color, and apply exactly the same layer style as the text layer to get the effect shown in Figure 13.

11. Use the same method to produce the same effect under other letters, as shown in Figure 14.
