Cropping an image

Once you have scanned an image and opened it in Photoshop, you can do the retouching. To begin, you use the Crop tool to crop the appropriate size of the picture so that it fits into the space designed for it.

1. On the Rectangle Marquee Tool button (), hold with the mouse key, and then drag to () and select. Then double-click the Crop tool to display its palette of options, select the fixed target size (repair target size), and enter the desired image size -3.75 "x6".

2. Drag the selection box around the image below to confirm that it includes the top tower and the orange cloth in the lower right corner of the ridge. Note that when you drag the marquee, it always retains the same proportions as the size you entered.
Because the photo is a little bit crooked during the scan, now you need to use the cutting tool to straighten it out before you use the new size.
3. Move the pointer outside the cropping marquee, and drag it clockwise until the marquee is parallel to the image.
4. Place the pointer inside the cropping marquee and drag it until the right side of the marquee is aligned with the right side of the image.

5. If necessary, drag the handle on the right corner to fine-tune the size of the marquee.
6. Press Enter and the image is now trimmed.

7. Select File > Save to save files.
