Storing images

Before you save the Photoshop file as a 4-color publication, you must convert the image to the CMYK color mode so that it can print correctly with the 4-color process ink. You can use the mode command to change the color mode of the image.

1. Choose Image > Mode > CMYK.
You can now save the file for Adobe PageMaker and the correct format required for your publication. Because PageMaker uses the Tagged-image file format (TIFF) label image file to print process or CMYK colors, we will save the picture as a TIFF file.
2. Select File > Save as.
3. In the dialog box, select TIFF.
4. Click Save.
5. In the TIFF Options dialog box, type the correct byte order (in bytes) for your system.
