Photoshop to make color light effect tutorial

Step 1

As usual, open Photoshop, create a new file, the size of a 1920x1200 pixel. Thereafter, fill the background layer with a dark gray (121212).

Step 2

Use the Rectangle tool (U) to create a rectangle across the middle of the canvas from left to right on the new layer, using white.

Step 3

If you are using Photoshop CS4, convert the rectangle to a smart object to use the filter. Then go to filter > Blur > Gaussian blur. Use a 10-pixel radius.

Step 4

Add another layer, use the Brush tool (B), and then use a soft brush with a hardness of 0. Choose White, then start smearing some light points. You can change the opacity of the brush so that you can create more change effects. After that, select the rectangular layer you just created (all two layers are selected), and then go to Layer > Layer Group (where it was previously wrong and now changed correctly). On the layers panel, the layer becomes a folder. Change the folder blending mode to color dodge.

Step 5

Add a new layer below the other layer on the background layer (including the layer group with the bright effect). Then fill any color on the new layer (preferably with black), go to layer > Layer style > Gradient overlay. Use a multiply-stacked blending mode, 90% opacity, 180-degree style, color with purple, red, yellow and green. Also on the blending options, change the fill opacity to 0, so that the layer has a gradient overlay effect. After this step, you will be able to see a very good, colorful background.

Step 6

Add a new layer below the other layer on the gradient layer. Then go to filter > Render > Cloud. Make sure your background color is black and the foreground color is white. After using the cloud filter, enter the filter > Blur > Gaussian blur. Use a 20-pixel radius. Change the blending mode to soft light, and then use the Eraser tool (E) to use a very soft brush again, and then remove part of the layer. This is done to make the changes irregular, just like smoke.

Step 7

Create a new file with a width of 100 pixels and a height of 10 pixels. Adjust the background layer so that it is half high (5 pixels). Select All and edit > define the pattern. Name the new pattern, and you'll have a really cool stripe pattern. Back to our design, add a new layer below the other layers on the background layer. Then use the Paint Bucket tool (G) to change the foreground type to a pattern. Select the pattern you just created (the pattern you just created can be replaced with a ready-made text) and use it to fill the layer. Then change the opacity to 2%, go to filter > Blur > Gaussian blur. Use a 2-pixel radius.

Results

by command (MAC)/control (PC) + Alt + SHITF + E, you will merge all layers into a new layer. Then go to filter > Noise > Add Noise. Use the number of 1.4% and the Gaussian type. Now, just add your trademark (logo) and you have an amazing wallpaper. You can use the blending mode and the basic filter that we just used. Most lighting effects use the same process.
