Photoshop Tutorial 01: Dating PHOTOSHOP6

System Configuration for Photoshop 6.0

Software Environment: Windows 95/98, or Windows NT4.0 environment. Some Internet features also require Internet browser support.

Hardware environment:

Cpu:133mhz or higher level Pentium compatible processors, preferably Pentium more than 2 grade.

Memory: Photoshop 6.0 minimum support memory 32MB, recommended 64M memory.

Hard disk: System installation requires at least 90MB of free hard disk space, if you want to process large image files, you need more space for hard disk.

Display device: VGA or higher resolution display, preferably with 3D video card and large screen display.

Other: CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, etc.

Photoshop 6.0 startup and shutdown

1 Click on the shortcut on the desktop.

2 Click, point to the program, point to Adobe, and then click Photoshopshop6.0 to start the Photoshopshop6.0.

3) Click the upper-right corner of the program window to close. or click to exit Photoshop6.0 by clicking on the lowest part. If the contents of the file have been saved, the system exits directly, otherwise it pops up as shown in 1-08 dialog boxes, clicks, saves changes, exits the system, clicks, discards the save, and exits the system. Click, cancel the command, and return to Photoshop6.0. Work window.

Establishment and access of documents

How do I create a new image file? Come with me.

1) Click, click, and Eject the dialog box as shown in 1-12.

2 Enter the filename, Photoshop6.0 's default filename is Untitled-1, or you can save the file and then type the file name. Sets the width and height of the file, which can be pixels, centimeters, inches, dots, and pie cards.

3 The resolution of the file. The more the resolution, the finer the image, and the larger the file.

4) Set the color mode. Click the dropdown black triangle symbol on the right, and the list appears as shown in Figure 1-13 RGB, CMYK, Lab, grayscale, bitmap mode can be selected.

5 The document background area has three options, you can choose white, background color, transparent color.

6) Click the button to complete the creation of the new file.

How do I open the image? is still a breeze.

1 Click, click, and Eject the dialog box shown in Figure 1-17.

2 Click the Search list to locate the disk and file directory where the file resides.

3) Click the name of the file you want to open, or enter a filename.

4) Click to open the file you want. You can also open the file in the third step by double-clicking directly.

When you finish processing an image, how do you save it? Just like saving any file, just change the image to the format you want.

1 Click, click, if the file has been named or edited the original file, the system is saved directly. Otherwise eject the dialog shown in Figure 1-22.

2 Locate the corresponding folder in the next list, and type the filename.

3 The corresponding image format is found in the Drop-down list.

4) Click, the image is saved in the appropriate directory.

In a word, PHOTOSHOP6 gives us too much convenience.

Using the Help system for Photoshop 6.0

Software itself as a help can be said to be our teacher, we must make good use of her Oh! How do I get online Help for Photoshop 6.0? Simple! Just press the F1 key, or click the command under the menu to eject the window shown in Figure 1-29.
