PLM and ERP

The informatization of manufacturing enterprises consists of four main business areas , represented by four major IT information systems, respectively. They are: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, supply chain management (SCM) systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and product life cycle Management (PLM) systems. The organic combination of the four kinds of information systems is an important part of Enterprise informatization. Enterprises can choose one or several kinds of systems to construct their own enterprise Informatization framework system according to their own situation and specific business problems. The idea that enterprise informatization is the implementation of ERP system is very one-sided and harmful.

In ERP, SCM, CRM and PLM four systems, PLM growth and maturity took the longest time, and the most difficult to be understood and compared with other systems, it is because so far, it is only one side to the product innovation system, but also the most interoperable system.
