Cause analysis
In order to improve performance, the system will cache all the icons in advance to a file, so that you do not have to start the system every time to go to one by one read load all the programs icon. Due to the normal use, the basic ability to determine the reason is only the icon cache file is corrupted. Rebuilding the icon cache can be solved.
Solution
Method One: Delete icon cache file
1. If it is a Windows XP system, delete the c:documents and settings user name local settingsapplication dataiconcache.db file; if it is a Windows 7 system, delete C: The users user name appdatalocaliconcache.db file. As shown in Figure 2.

2. Restart the computer, and the system will automatically regenerate the file.
Method Two: Detour change icon size
1. If it is a Windows XP system, right click on the desktop space to select Properties, switch to the Appearance tab, click the "Advanced" button, in the "Advanced appearance" to choose the size of the icon arbitrarily increase or decrease, click OK. As shown in Figure 3. This way the system automatically rebuilds the icon cache file.

Supplementary notes
1. Iconcache.db is a hidden file, please show hidden files in Folder Options first.
2. The default icon size of the system looks very comfortable, so it is not used to the second way to the previous increase or decrease the size of the icon back. This roundabout way to modify is the most recommended, because it "green non-polluting" (not directly modify the file) and "quick" (do not need to restart).
3. Since there are too many third-party tools to implement this feature, they are not listed. :)
