Recovery system with the "Automated System Recovery" _windowsxp with Win XP

In fact, Windows XP users need to do the prevention work ahead of time, restore their own computer system is not so cumbersome. Because you have a weapon in your Windows XP system that restores your system-the Automated System Recovery Program (Automatic system Recovery ASR). It completely restores the Windows XP system to its original appearance, including the configuration and software installed in the system, and so on. Let's use this newly added software in Windows XP.

　　 I. Fundamentals-Prerequisites for the system

First, the hard disk on the computer is divided into at least two partitions, and the non-system partition (such as D or e disk) has enough space left, it will be used to save the storage files. The size of the backup file depends on your system files and the size of the program you are installing, typically 2GB~3GB. In addition, we need a blank and formatted floppy disk and a Windows XP system installation disk.

　 Two. Backup-Prepare for Automated System Recovery

Automated System Recovery is able to restore a computer system to its original appearance, relying entirely on the backup files. Therefore, it is our primary preparation to back up the system files.

Click "Start" and select "program → attachment → system tools → backup". A Backup or Restore wizard window appears, click Advanced Mode to eject the Backup Tools window, select the Automated System Recovery Wizard button, and the Automated System failure Recovery Preparation wizard appears when the dialog box asks "where you want to save your system backup." Change the path of the backup file from the default A to disk D or other partitions, and the file name can be changed to the day's date so that you know when the backup file was created when you recover later. After setting up, insert the floppy disk into the floppy drive, and continue with the operation to complete the backup work.

After the backup completes, you should save the ASR floppy disk and the system backup file, because in the future restore, these two things can not be less.

　　 three. Restore--you have an identical system.

If there are serious problems with the system, and the fix remains the same, it is best to use Automated System Recovery to restore the system.

Start the computer from the CD first, insert the ASR floppy disk into the floppy drive, and press the F2 key when the system enters the CD-ROM installer. During the restore process, the program automatically deletes the original system partition and formats it (this is why you do not store the backup file in the system partition), installs the operating system, and finally extracts and restores the original system and program files from the backup files.
