Article Title: A Red Hat Linux desktop operating system plan. Linux is a technology channel of the IT lab in China. Includes basic categories such as desktop applications, Linux system management, kernel research, embedded systems, and open source.

RedHat has been brewing a Linux desktop operating system plan. This plan is different from that of other Linux vendors. At an informal meeting between RedHat executives and the news media, Jim whitehirst said: "Some companies sell hundreds of products to earn millions of dollars, some companies need to sell hundreds of products to get those benefits. What kind of company do you think red hat belongs?"

Does this mean that RedHat does not intend to develop a Linux Desktop OS? The answer is no. In fact, it has nothing to do with the Linux desktop operating system. However, it does mean that RedHat intends to adopt a completely different strategy: RedHat will not compete with Ubuntu pre-installed on Dell Computers, nor Xandros pre-installed on Asus computers, it will not compete with gOS pre-installed on Everex computers. On the Linux operating system of the consumer, the red hat does not have its own role. As Paul Cormier, executive vice president of RedHat, pointed out at the meeting, if a user wants to use a Home Edition Linux desktop operating system, he can use the Fedora-RedHat Linux release.

At present, RedHat continues to improve its commercial desktop operating system product RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) to make it more friendly. Whitehirst pointed out that many commercial users want to use the Linux desktop operating system. They don't want to transplant their desktop locks, desktop stock markets, and so on to RHEL or any other Linux Desktop OS. However, Fortune 500 companies really want 25% of their computers to use Linux desktops.

Why? Because they want to get the benefits of Linux. In addition to common advantages, such as improving TCO (total cost of ownership) and higher security, RedHat Enterprise Users want a Linux desktop operating system that can be stored in a USB flash drive, it runs as a virtual machine and can be managed using a red hat management tool. Is this specially designed for those who want to change Windows XP Home? In fact, this is not the case. It is mainly used to attract the attention of CIOs who want to replace Windows XP Pro.

However, this is not the main focus of the red hat. RedHat wants to sell users a complete ecosystem that includes open-source technology-based servers and commercial applications, and the licensing model is paid on a yearly basis. This is good if the RHEL desktop OS helps users run other commercial applications. However, if a red hat is used to mount its desktop operating system on its server, it would be an inverse operation.

Never think that Redhat has never studied Linux desktop operating system technology. At Red Hat Summit, Red Hat GNOME leader and Red Hat Labs engineer Jonathan Blandford said Red Hat is developing pluth uth to speed up importing Linux Desktop OS; improve the audio of the PulseAudio sound program and greatly improve the dual-monitor support.

You will not see these new features on the Red Hat Linux desktop operating system. However, if you pay close attention, you will see these features in Fedora or other well-known Linux desktop operating systems, such as Ubuntu and openSUSE. Red Hat's main role in the field of Linux desktop operating systems is to improve the overall desktop experience, rather than selling an independent Linux desktop operating system.
