Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.4 released will remove the Btrfs File System
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Enterprise release, released the latest version 7.4. One notable change is that RHEL will remove Btrfs file systems. Red Hat said in the statement that Btrfs has been in technical preview since the release of RHEL 6, and Btrfs will not be converted into fully supported functions. In the future, major new versions will remove this feature.
Btrfs will remain in RHEL 7. RHEL 7.4 contains multiple Btrfs updates from the upstream, but this will be the final update in the plan. Some people believe that Red Hat's move is for technical reasons, but some believe it is for political reasons, because Btrfs was first developed by Red Hat's rival oracle, oracle has created its own enterprise release version based on RHEL.
