If you want to transfer the file to another server via FTP after backing up the file in crontab, you can use the following method to compile shell script:

#! /Bin/sh

Ftphost = "ftp. server. Address"

Username = "ftp-username"

Password = "ftp-Password"

Directory of the local storage .tar.gz backup file

File = "/backup/DIR"

# Ftp server Backup Directory

Backupdir = "/ftpserver/backup"

# Log on to the FTP server and transfer files

FTP-N ftphost <user $ username $ Password

CD $ backupdir

Mput $ File/* .tar.gz

Quit

EOF

After the shell script is stored, Run "chmod + x filename. Sh" to grant the execution permission, and then put it in crontab.
