In the past ten years, RHEL has made RedHat the dominant position in the enterprise-level Linux market. Ten years later, RedHat hopes to build an IaaS solution on OpenStack to realize the company's leapfrog development. RedHat is now focusing on cloud computing and plans to use it as the main driving force to support its business development in the next decade. Only this time, the most prominent focus is that Redhat has successfully invested money in a software, that is, OpenStack. However, there is too much uncertainty about whether RedHat can implement this idea.

RedHat has released the new Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 4.0. This RHEL OpenStack Platform provides the OpenStack experience for Enterprise-level Linux release version RHEL Based on RedHat for the private cloud, public cloud, and hybrid cloud markets.

Red Hat ultimately depends on the two cornerstones of survival: RHEL and OpenStack. After making REHL a profitable business, it is imperative to make a RedHat article on OpenStack. Based on the design philosophy, OpenStack should be a Linux in the cloud computing field-open code and license, allowing users to create projects based on communities. However, currently, the OpenStack market is still in the "no leader" status. If RedHat creates an OpenStack by creating a Linux release version, it may be successful.

In the future, RedHat will promote the platform development strategy around RHEL, virtualization, OpenStack and cloud computing. At the same time, it is quite dangerous to move a fairly mature RHEL profit model to a fresh and unproven theory of cloud computing.

Enterprises are investigating cloud solutions in an experimental way and implementing them as needed. The current strategic idea of RedHat is to continue selling their operating system platform, while the cloud solution is fully launched after the migration is ready. The focus of this strategic thinking is that the original application and infrastructure do not have to be rewritten, and customers can also use their existing Red Hat skills and infrastructure to support the new product system.

In short, whether RedHat can develop another revenue channel of one billion US dollars requires the improvement of the OpenStack ecosystem and the popularization of cloud computing development.
