Since Xshell remote connection to Ubuntu is via SSH protocol, it is necessary to install an SSH server to Ubuntu.
1) Ubuntu installation SSH server
sudo apt-get install Openssh-server
2) If a problem occurs, restart the SSH service to
sudo service ssh restart
3) Ensure that the Xshell host (here is Win7) and Ubuntu (here is the virtual machine) to each other, because SSH remote connection is connected through the network, if the network is not connected, you can not connect.
A) on the virtual machine Ubuntu view its IP
b) in PC Win7 view its IP
c) ip:ping 10.221.20.16 on the virtual machine Ubuntu terminal flat Win7
d) in PC Win7 terminal flat Ubuntu ip:ping 10.221.20.17
4) Configure Xshell, Telnet
