The "Favorites", "desktop", and various "library" icons in the upper-left corner of the Win7 system Explorer make it very uncomfortable for many people to teach you how to remove the unsightly little icons of the Win7 System Resource manager.
First, enter "regedit" in the search bar of the Start menu to open Registry Editor and navigate to Hkey_classes_rootclsid{323ca680-c24d-4099-b94d-446dd2d7249e}shellfolder
Add permissions
Right-click ShellFolder, select the right->administrators, check "Full Control", and then double-click the attributes in the right pane, a0900100 to a9400100, restart the Explorer to remove the favorites.
Other settings are similar, as long as you find the corresponding registry key changes. The registry key for the library is Hkey_classes_rootclsid{031e4825-7b94-4dc3-b131-e946b44c8dd5}shellfolder, Change the b080010d to b090010d.
The registry entry for the homegroup is Hkey_classes_rootclsid{b4fb3f98-c1ea-428d-a78a-d1f5659cba93}shellfolder, and the b084010c is changed to B094010C.
The registry entry for the network is Hkey_classes_rootclsid{f02c1a0d-be21-4350-88b0-7367fc96ef3c}shellfolder, and the b0040064 is changed to b0940064.
