SCCM 2012 R2 practice series (I)-Introduction to SCCM

Starting from today, we will start a new journey. We have introduced Microsoft's VDI deployment in Windows Server 2012 (R2). Today, let's take a look at another Microsoft product, SCCM, which belongs to the systemcenter family, has a long history of Microsoft's dedicated mcenter product. SCCM has also evolved from many generations of products, from the previous system Management Server 2003, in the past, SCCM (System Center Configuration Manage) 2007 and SCCM 2012 R2 have undergone many major innovations, today, let's take a look at the deployment of SCCM 2012 R2 and its functions. before talking about SCCM 2012 R2, let's talk about Microsoft's systemcenter family products through systemcenter, we can build a private cloud within an enterprise to transform the entire IT architecture and internal business processes, saving it costs and enabling Business processes of enterprises tend to be automated.

The systemcenetr family now contains 8 Products

Product Name	Function
APP Controller	APP Controller provides a unified console to help you manage public and private clouds and cloud-based virtual machines and services.
Data Protection Manager	Data Protection Manager (DPM) is a backup and recovery solution for Microsoft workloads. DPM provides immediate and effective protection for files and folders, Exchange Server, SQL Server, virtual machine manager, Sharepoint, hyper-V, and client computers. For large-scale deployment, DPM also allows you to monitor backups through the central console or remotely.
Operations Manager	Operations Manager provides flexible, cost-effective infrastructure Monitoring to help ensure predictable performance and availability for important applications and fully monitor data centers, public clouds, and Private clouds.
Service Manager	Service Manager provides an integrated platform that automatically executes and adapts to your organization's IT service management best solutions, such as Microsoft Operations framework (MOF) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) the best solutions included. The built-in process can resolve events and problems, control changes, and manage asset lifecycles.
Configuration Manager (which we will mainly introduce)	Configuration Manager provides a comprehensive solution for managing changes and configurations on the Microsoft platform. It allows you to deploy operating systems, software applications and software updates, and monitor and correct computer compliance settings. With Configuration Manager, you can also monitor the hardware and software list and manage computers remotely.
Endpoint Protection	Endpoint Protection provides anti-malware and security solutions for the Microsoft platform.
Orchestrator	Orchestrator coordinates, integrates, and automatically executes it processes by creating runbooks, enabling you to define and standardize the best solutions and improve operational efficiency.
Virtual Machine Manager	Virtual Machine Manager (vmm) is a virtual data center management solution that allows you to configure and manage virtualized hosts, networks, and storage resources, to create virtual machines and services and deploy them to the private cloud you created.

Through these products, we can build private clouds within the enterprise to provide automated and pay-as-you-go services. Of course, these eight products are not all needed, which will be involved in the future.

These are official introductions from Microsoft. If SCCM is adopted, its main functions include the following:
