Screen Recording tool Xvidcap under Linux
June 05, 2008
Xvidcap is the screen recording tool under Linux, which is a necessary trick to explain how to use the software and demonstrate the operation of the computer.
Xvidcap is probably the abbreviation for x Windows Video capture, without textual research.
Before the open Source alternative this site search screencast found, ready to write a description of the Keke has been introduced.
The article said download a Deb package installation is good, I previously downloaded is tar.gz, installation is really very troublesome, so wordy a few words.
First downloaded here, both Deb and tar.gz files are available. OK, according to my method to download the tar.gz file, after decompression ./configure, Error said need gtk+-2.0 >= 2.4.0 and libglade-2.0
Fortunately, Libglade is found in Ubuntu sources, so
sudo apt-get install libglade2-0 sudo apt-get install Libglade2-dev
But the Ubuntu source is still unable to find GTK +, depressed ran to http://www.gtk.org/, found the download page. Download after decompression ./configure, and Error said need Libtiff, so run to http://www.libtiff.org/, download unzip ./configure;make;sudo make Install , no problem at all.
GTK + 's Install file says there may be a lack of TIFF, PNG, and JPEG image loading libraries when installing GTK +, respectively, in the following places:
http://www.libtiff.org/http://www.libpng.org/http://www.ijg.org/
All right, the things you're looking for are all up, so here's how to repeat this by flashback:
First of all, see if Libtiff, libpng, libjpeg has any, no words to install first
Then, see if GTK + and Libglade have no, don't go on pretending first
Finally, you can finally install the xvidcap, so it is ./configure;make;sudo make install good luck ~
After installation Xvidcap automatically placed in the Applications->sound & Video directory, the use is very simple, a look will be, or refer to the above mentioned article. Have fun!
