We all know that many of Microsoft's important services are combined with the Active Directory, for example: Exchange, SQL, Lync, of course, including our current installation of SCVMM R2 is also a close combination with AD, can say that without ad we will not be able to build SCVMM, Speaking of which, there may be many friends who notice the importance of Active Directory for SCVMM, and now that I have recognized the importance of it, today I will prepare the Active Directory with you.

In our experimental environment there are three servers, specifically:

Tick "Active directory Domain Services" here to click Next:

Here, click "Promote this server to a domain controller":

Since this is the first time to install, select "Add New Forest" here, then enter the domain name, where I use "corp.com", click Next:

Select "Domain Functional Level" and "forest functional level" and enter the directory Restore Mode password according to the actual requirement, click Next:

The error is ignored here, because no DNS server is currently created, just click Next in this system will automatically install the DNS server (host: DNS point must point to this machine), click Next:

Here the system assigns the NetBIOS domain name, by default will be the domain name which we entered in front of several, but when the system detects has the duplicate domain name to automatically after the domain name to randomly generate a number, here directly clicks Next:

Here you can specify the storage path for files such as the Active Directory database, as it is currently an experimental environment, so leave the default and click Next:

Here to make a confirmation of the installation, confirm that the system will be detected on the current system to see if it meets the installation conditions, here I click Next:
