Serial Port Configuration Based on vmwarevm Linux

When using a serial port to debug the Development Board in VMware Workstation, you may encounter some inexplicable problems. Now I will give a brief summary and share it with you. Configurations are divided into virtual machine configuration and linux minicom configuration.

The virtual machine module configuration is as follows:

Open the virtual machine configuration page.

 

Select Edit virtual machine settings. Go to the configuration page.

 

Select Add... Button to add related device files.

 

Select the serial port option and continue to select next.

 

Select the "use physical serial port device on the host" option to continue the next step.

 

For physical serial port options, you can use the automatic detection option here. If there is a port number corresponding to the serial port in the menu, you can select. NOTE: For the device status, make sure to select connect at power on, that is, the power-on connection status. Now, the virtual machine serial port configuration is complete.
