Windows Server 2012 leverages NLB to enable high availability of Web sites

NLB Introduction:

NLB Network Load Balancing, his role is that when a host in the cluster suddenly fails or work offline, there will be another specific host to share his work, to ensure the normal operation of the service. When the traffic load is too heavy, the network traffic will be shared, so that the load of the network can be reached in a balanced state.

Below we will use NLB Network Load Balancing to achieve high availability of Web sites in a Windows server2012 environment.

For the approximate topological diagram of the experiment, we prepared the network settings in advance, such as:

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image002 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image002 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6D/BB/wKiom1VqlGTwjrtTAAB-TCQt-sk082.jpg "height=" 269 "/>

Below we will first add roles and features to the SERVER02 machine, such as:

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image004 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image004 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6D/BB/wKiom1VqlGTRX7wVAAEh9dCewTI244.jpg "height=" 339 "/>

After checking the IP address, click Next to proceed with the Installation Wizard:

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image006 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image006 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6D/BB/wKiom1VqlGWx6IBeAAGp3a7jQEU288.jpg "height=" 471 "/>

Next, tick "Network Load Balancing" and click Next to install, such as:

We came to the Server02 machine to configure NLB, click on the tool--Network Load Balancing Manager,

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image018 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image018 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6D/B7/wKioL1Vqlf3DS2QjAAHvHpcqfPc883.jpg "height=" 492 "/>

Click Network Load Balancing cluster--right--Create a new cluster, such as:

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image020 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image020 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6D/B7/wKioL1Vqlf2z1mbqAAEHqPDWz6c024.jpg "height=" 432 "/>

We will point the host of the new cluster to the IP of this machine, the interface chooses the excuse of physical network card, for example:

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image021 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image021 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6D/BB/wKiom1VqlGfA6mGmAAFE_RoPG4g861.jpg "height=" 545 "/>

By default, click "Next",

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image022 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image022 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6D/BB/wKiom1VqlGejy4MWAAFZhrNMjqA000.jpg "height=" 540 "/>

The following will add a VIP virtual IP address for the new cluster, which I set to 192.168.1.104,

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image023 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image023 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6D/BB/wKiom1VqlGijQh0NAAGHhUUM5wQ677.jpg "height=" 525 "/>

After confirming the newly added IP, click Next:

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image024 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image024 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6D/B7/wKioL1Vqlf7wL-x_AAE_hpePAL8021.jpg "height=" 567 "/>

Cluster operation mode:

Unicast: The MAC address of all nodes is replaced with a unified cluster MAC address

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image025 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image025 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6D/B7/wKioL1Vqlf-y-MJ0AAEiDKSLvwk972.jpg "height=" 561 "/>

Continue Setup below, click Finish,

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image026 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image026 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6D/BB/wKiom1VqlGjhgG1kAAGT3OSYcTM409.jpg "height=" 572 "/>

After the new cluster is created, we can see that the host state of the SERVER02 is already aggregated,

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image028 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image028 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlGmiCGq2AAD5TmgeiQc198.jpg "height=" 323 "/>

Next we will add the SERVER03 host to the cluster in the cluster, click the cluster name-right--add the host to the cluster, such as:

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image030 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image030 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlGmDOF4hAAFBaORAAvM531.jpg "height=" 372 "/>

As before, the host is SERVER03 IP, the NIC interface is also the physical NIC interface,

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image031 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image031 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlGnhiZ6SAAFvEgCneuw704.jpg "height=" 589 "/>

Continue by default, click "Next",

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image032 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image032 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlGmgellIAAFyYmBoyoM471.jpg "height=" 571 "/>

Next, click "Finish".

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image033 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image033 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlGqR_w5hAAGLgb9P5IU314.jpg "height=" 559 "/>

We can see that the two hosts in the cluster are all in the aggregated state, which means that the NLB we've built has been basically successful. The next test is:

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image035 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image035 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlGrwTgP0AACfirmfGJc181.jpg "height=" 216 "/>

We will server01 as the client, the persistent ping VIP virtual IP address, 192.168.1.104. such as:

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image037 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image037 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlGrzC4z2AAJHpNp7S3U262.jpg "height=" 383 "/>

Below we successively disconnects two nodes, we first disable SERVER03 's network card, check the network condition,

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image039 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image039 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6D/B7/wKioL1VqlgHBMhSfAAC6S9ZL3X0327.jpg "height=" 164 "/>

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image041 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image041 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlGuS30jPAAJLbmWaP9Q755.jpg "height=" 369 "/>

We will then disable the Server02 NIC to check the network status,

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image043 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image043 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlGuA5iC4AAC33lHAP2s293.jpg "height="/>

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image045 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image045 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6D/B7/wKioL1VqlgLTlhHjAAKPq_1MJQk474.jpg "height=" 395 "/>

The above tests will find that our network connectivity is not affected. Proving that the NLB experiment was a success.

We will implement the high availability of the Web site on the basis of NLB.

First, we create a Web shared folder on Server01 to enable synchronization of data updates, such as:

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image047 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image047 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6D/B7/wKioL1VqlgLSBp6EAAE7AMvbcBE906.jpg "height=" 355 "/>

We server02 server03 above the new WEB01, WEB02 site,

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image049 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image049 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6D/B7/wKioL1VqlgLSh1NoAADil6C3Ujw559.jpg "height=" 189 "/>

The physical path of the site points to the location of the shared Ask folder of the Server01 and points the IP address to the VIP virtual IP address.

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image053 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image053 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6D/B7/wKioL1VqlgPAQz7zAAEWLtIwU68837.jpg "height=" 484 "/>

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image051 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image051 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlGywqHEdAAEeCh0kIoo611.jpg "height=" 507 "/>

Below we are again in succession to disconnect two nodes, to view the file access, such as:

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image039[1] "border=" 0 "alt=" clip _IMAGE039[1] "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlG3we0EvAACkY3M4LZg166.jpg "height=" 146 "/>

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image055 "border=" 0 "alt=" clip_ image055 "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlG2hYw9IAACFeKtRZ8A953.jpg "height=" 147 "/>

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image043[1] "border=" 0 "alt=" clip _IMAGE043[1] "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlG2Qq2X6AACep2BJxqw187.jpg "height=" 135 "/>

650) this.width=650; "Style=" background-image:none;border-bottom:0px;border-left:0px;padding-left:0px; padding-right:0px;border-top:0px;border-right:0px;padding-top:0px; "title=" clip_image055[1] "border=" 0 "alt=" clip _IMAGE055[1] "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6D/BC/wKiom1VqlG2Q9_brAAB_jKN-C6Q582.jpg "height=" 148 "/>

The above experiments have realized how to build Network Load balancing and how to use Network Load Balancing to realize the high availability of web sites. The above experimental steps are more detailed, and thank you for watching,, what is the DA ~ ~ ~
