I have been installing Ubuntu on a virtual machine (Ubuntu 11.10 is currently used). During the installation of image files, I have not been prompted to select the system language, so I had to use English by default.
After the installation is complete, log in and change the update source to a domestic server, open the terminal, and enter Sudo apt-Get update , Then prompt to enter the password, and then enter Sudo apt-Get upgrade . Then enable the language support Language Support The system prompts you that the language installation is incomplete. Click Install to start the update. If you accidentally click Install, the language support cannot be updated later. The solution is to re-select a new server and open the terminal to repeat the above operations.
After the update is complete, you can use Locale- "View the current locale environment, that is, the current language environment." Locale-m List all locale language environments supported by Linux. In fact, after the update is complete, the Chinese language will basically be installed. Now enable language support and select "Chinese characters "... The problem has come, if you find that Chinese characters have been installed, but Gray can not choose, restart the computer can not use the following method to solve, think of the Problem description see http://forum.ubuntu.org.cn/viewtopic.php? T = 353552.
Open terminal Input Sudo gedit/etc/default/locale , Replace the quotation marks with" Zh_CN.UTF-8 "(I changed all );
Set Root User Logon. For details, see http:// OS .51cto.com/art/200709/56719.htm;
Restart Ubuntu and use the root user to log on. You will find that Ubuntu has become a Chinese character;
Open user management to delete previous users, create a new user (just delete that account), set its environment as administrator, Chinese environment, and set the password;
Log out with a new account, and you will find that the environment is Chinese;
Disable Root User .
When something went wrong, I thought I was doing something wrong, so I had to delete the installed Ubuntu and reinstall it.
