Sharepoint 2016 configure FBA (1) to create a Membership database, fbamembership

 

The process of configuring FBA (forms based authentication) on Sharepoint 2016 is the same as that of Sharepoint 2013.

Step 1: Create a Membership database.

To store all user names and passwords, you must first create a database. Asp. Net comes with a tool to create a Membership database, which is used to store logon information.

Open c: \ windows \ Microsoft. NET \ Framework64 \ v4.0.30319 \ and run aspnet_regsql.exe.

Select "Configure SQL Server for application services" and Next.

 

Enter the SQL server name and the SQL SERVER Logon account. If you select <default> as the database name, the created database name is aspnetdb.

Confirm the Installation Summary. Next Step

The database has been created or modified. Finish.

In IIS, check that the Application Pool Identity of the site is administrator. Make sure that this Windows Account has sufficient permissions to access the aspnetdb database.

 

After you know the Identity, go to SSMS to set permissions for this Identity. Right-click the user in Security-Logins and select properties.

In user mapping, select User Mapping, select aspnetdb, select the db_owner role in Database role membership for aspnetdb, and click OK. In this way, you have full permissions for aspnetdb.
