I purchased an overseas VPs with the Windows version 2008 R2 x64 servers English version, when I installed the 64-bit SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition of the Chinese version, the following error message was prompted. I tried a variety of methods, but Baidu Google had a lot of problems.
This install package cocould not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer package.
Let's talk about my[Solution]:

1. Open Control Panel on VPs.

2. Open clock, language, and regin.

3. Open region and language.

4. On the formats tab, select "format" as Chinese (simplified, PRC ).

5. On the location tab, change current location to China.

6. Change System locale at administrative, select Chinese (simplified, PRC) in the processing window, and click OK.

7. Click OK.

8. In the clock, language, and regin window, click Change the time zone.

9. In the displayed window, Set Change Time Zone to (UTC +) Beijing, Chongqing, Hong Kong, and Urumqi.

10. After the operation is completed, try again and you will find that the installation is normal. This is my operation step. Step 9 should be fine. No tests.
