I bought a basic speech and PPT book on the internet yesterday. Recently, I have been interested in this book and have bought many related books, the goal is to improve the ability to give speeches and give PPT presentations. In addition, some improvements have been made in the continuous practice process.
However, when a friend saw that I was buying these books, his comments were: they were all dummies. Indeed, the speech itself is to share some of its ideas with the audience so that people can gain something, but it may also be purely brainwashed, just like the speech in pyramid schemes. Haha. It should be said that many technical staff pay more attention to some hard capabilities and hope that a book can serve as a reference for their own work, or improve their professional skills, however, the ability to speak or to be fooled is actually a kind of soft ability. It is more suitable for people who like to speak, or agile coaches in the team. Some people can simply speak, there is no actual content, which leads to some people's plans for these people, even extended to dislike the speech.
In fact, any kind of capability is similar to technology, and there is no difference between good and bad. What's important is to see where it is applied or who it is applied, the same is true for technical skills, and the same is true for speeches.
Like a book, a speech is a good speech, if a book has the same effect as a speech, it is worth buying.
Sometimes life is a circle, turning around and returning to the starting point. When I was in college, I failed to give a speech. I even felt that I was not suitable for such communication. I also felt that I would never do similar things again. However, it is really strange to purchase books and practice to improve your related capabilities. Maybe you want to give yourself more challenges. I still remember the results of a survey in the lecture Zen, that is, people think that public speaking is the most terrible thing. If I can overcome the difficulties, to do the most terrible thing well, does it mean there is no more terrible thing for me? Haha, Ah Q.
