3. Steps

# TAR-ZXVF splunk-6.2.0-237341-linux-x86_64.tgz------- decompression

# cd/opt/splunk/bin/
#./splunk Start

You need a license, just start at random and press a letter.

If error:the http port [8000] is already bound appears. Splunk needs to use this port. I'll change the port . 8001 Port

#netstat-ant-------------------------------------------to see if the installation was successful

#ln-S/usr/local/splunk/bin/splunk/etc/rc2.d/s80splunk---boot automatically
#ln-S/usr/local/splunk/bin/splunk/etc/init.d/splunk------ to the server
4. login http://localhost:8001, just start, user name:admin Password:changeme Access to get interface
