Installation preparation:
1. Select between different versions of SQL Server 2005
Most enterprises choose among the three editions: SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition, SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition, and SQL Server 2005 workgroup edition. Most enterprises choose these versions because only Enterprise Edition, Standard Edition, and workgroup edition can be installed and used in the production server environment.
In addition to Enterprise Edition, Standard Edition, and workgroup edition, SQL Server 2005 also includes SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition and SQL Server 2005 express edition. The following sections describe each of the versions and recommend when to use them.

Installer support software

3. Installation
2005 technology has been around us for a long time. Due to work, we have never had the opportunity to use it. Today, we finally have time to appreciate the charm of 2005. Below we will detail the process of installing and installing SP1 in 2005.
First, open the optical disk and start it to the installation directory. Then, double-click setup.exe, as shown in the following figure.

 

Wait a moment to bring up the Installation Wizard interface:

 

Click the next step and the system starts to check the system configuration (my current memory is MB, prompting the hardware warning,)

 

Click Next to install the program preparation and Installation Wizard, and then start preparations before installation, such as disk space detection, etc...

 

 

If everything works, congratulations, your installation is half done. Then the registration page is displayed.

 

Enter the registration number, click Next, and select the component:

 

You can choose based on your own needs. You can click Advanced to perform more detailed settings:

Anyone who has installed the office on this page is familiar with it. Click different projects and select them in the pop-up menu. You can also change the installation path. Click Next to set the Instance name. If your machine does not have any other SQL Server products, click Next. If your machine has products earlier than 2005, when you select the default instance, the 2005 installation disk will upgrade your previous product. If you select the Instance name, 2005 will install a new instance, and the previous products will still run independently. I selected the named instance sql2005 as needed.

 

Click Next to set the service account,

 

 

 

My choice and built-in account: local system. Select the "End Service Startup" option as needed and click "Step 1" to enter the local account password settings:

 

 

Click Next To go to the sorting rule settings:

 

 

Click Next to go to some settings of the Report Server:

 

 

Do not make any modifications,

 

 

Next, display all the options you have set:

 

 

Click "Install" and select "System Configuration". Then, click "Install progress ".

 

 

 

 

Now you can sit down and have a cup of tea. Wait for a while, depending on your configuration, until the following page appears.

 

The installation is almost over. After you click Next,

 

In this case, you can configure the peripheral application configurator. We can also configure the process in the future, so we will not detail it here. Click Finish.
