SQL Server R2 modify the sa password by logging in with SQL Server Authentication

Here's how to fix it

After logging in with Windows authentication,

First select Server (right-click), Properties---Security server Authentication modified to "SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode"
Next expand "Security" on the server, login name, check the sa login account (right-click)--state--Login to enable, and change the password in the General options

Restart SEL server after confirmation
