Start Windows in Safe mode, using only limited files and drivers. Starting a program in Safe mode does not run and installs only the basic drivers needed to start Windows.
Safe mode is useful for resolving problems with programs and drivers that do not start properly or that may prevent Windows from starting properly. If the problem does not occur when you start in Safe mode, you can exclude the default settings and basic device drivers from the possible cause of the failure. If the most recently installed program, device, or driver prevents Windows from running correctly, you can start the computer in Safe mode and then remove the program that has the problem.
Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.
Click the Start button in turn
The arrow next to the Shutdown button

If the computer has only one operating system installed, hold down the F8 key when the computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you will need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears and then shutting down and restarting the computer.
If your computer has more than one operating system installed, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system that you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.
On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the desired safe mode option, and then press Enter.
Log on to the computer using a user account that has administrator privileges.
When your computer is in Safe mode, you can see the word "Safe mode" displayed in each corner of your monitor.
To exit Safe mode, restart your computer, and then start Windows normally.
