Log list
Describes the log files and descriptions that are common to SUSE Linux operating systems.
The list of log files common to SuSE Linux operating systems is shown in table 1.

Description
/var/log/boot.msg
The screen information that is displayed when the system starts. When you cannot log on to the system, press "CTRL+ALT+F10" to switch to the log display interface and then watch the screen output via KVM.
/var/log/boot.omsg
The last time the log was started.
/var/log/messages
System log. You can also view kernel output buffer information by executing the DMESG command, which is the kernel, driven log output, but does not contain logging time information.
/var/log/warn
System logs above the warn level.
/var/log/wtmp
System Login and restart information, perform last command read.
/var/log/yast2/y2log
YaST interface Operation Log.
/var/log/xinetd.log
XINETD Service log.
/var/log/dump/
System dump log storage directory, including failure information on system downtime collected by the Kdump tool.
/var/log/atop
The system resource usage logs collected by the atop tool, including CPU, memory, system processes, and IO data, are often used to analyze failures such as process memory leaks, CPU depletion, IO exceptions, and so on.
