Test SQL server connection using udl

Source: Internet
Author: User

You may encounter SQL server connection issues when using databases. In many cases, the SQL Server tool is not installed on the client. You can use Telnet
Or ping command to determine the problem, but for users who do not know, there may be no warning. It is better to have a graphical interface.

In fact, we can test the procedure by creating a udl (Universal Data Link) file:

1.
Create a TXT file

2.
Change the suffix of the TXT file to udl

3.
Open udl to list providers on the machine

4.
Select a provider for testing. Here I select nativeclient

5.
Enter the server name and connection information for testing.

Of course, you can also test the connection through ODBC, but the ole db driver does not have many udl.
