Test to disable automatic playback of a USB flash drive (mobile hard drive)

I have always recommended using group policies to disable automatic playback. Today, I saw a question post in the forum. This post attempts to describe a point of view-to avoid double-clicking or inserting a USB flash drive (mobile hard drive) poisoning, the Group Policy Editor alone is invalid. You need to modify the registration key value.

In this regard, I carefully tested it for 20 minutes. To make the test image more straightforward, I copied notepad.exeto the USB disk and renamed it "assumer.exe.

Run gpedit. msc, in the computer configuration, management template, system, disable automatic playback double-click on the right side, select not configured (I usually immediately modify this value to all drives after installing the system ), for this test, I will change it back. Restart your computer to make the configuration take effect.

Then, double-click my computer, and then double-click the USB flash drive icon. The notepad is opened. Attach a Windows xp iso cd image. Double-click to bring up the Windows XP installation interface.

Continue to the next step, re-run gpedit. msc, change the value of disable automatic playback to all drives, and then restart the computer.

Double-click my computer, double-click the USB flash drive, and double-click the disc. The corresponding program is not started, but the files in the root directory are displayed in the current window.

This test shows that autorun is created for viruses in mobile media. inf is the simplest and most effective defense method. You can use group policies to modify computer configurations, manage templates, disable automatic playback, and restart your computer.
