TI's efforts on C64x Linux have now gained a lot of support from relevant communities. To port the Linux kernel to C64x ISA, Code Sourcery is developing a complete toolchain, including support for the GNU Compiler set (GCC) and the GNU program debugger (GDB. The objective of this project is that both the C64x Linux kernel and GCC/GDB tools can be accepted by kernel.org and the Free Software Foundation, so that they can be fully supported as open-source community projects. In addition, TI will launch a Linux-C64x Portal and community-oriented distribution plan to promote the development of communications and development related to this technology. ENEA is launching a scalable open-source multi-kernel communication protocol stack for the C64x Linux community and providing it with advanced multi-kernel platform software and debugging tools. Nash Technologies is implementing features from advanced chip-level features such as multi-core processor communication to complete LTE protocols. PolyCore Software companies, also early participants in the community, are implementing the MCAPI multi-kernel communication framework.

TI's C64x Linux kernel products support TMS320C6474, and the products are available in May third quarter of 2010.
