First, server configuration

1. Create a visual Studio online account

Open vs, select Team Explorer (under the View menu), and in Team Explorer, select Enroll Team Foundation Service, open the VS login page, and if you have an account, sign in directly, if not registered.

2, log in after the jump to create account page

Enter the information, where the account URL is important, be sure to remember (your TFS server address), then click the Create button to jump to the project creation page.

Enter the project name, others can choose Default, and then click Create Project to create a wizard automatically jump to the project management page

3. Add a team developer account for the project created in TFS, click the Manage button in the Red section of the previous project management page to pop up the account Management page

If more than one person develops, need to add multiple accounts

Second, the client configuration

1. Select teams → Connect to team Foundation Server

2, select the server, if not yet connected, select the Server button to add the server, enter information

If you have already connected, select the server directly and click "Connect"

After the link is successful, select Source Explorer to open the source code resource Manager

3. Map Server project directory to local directory

In the Open Source Explorer, select the unmapped link on the right, map the local directory, and the directory must be mapped to the project root directory.

4. Then switch to Solution Explorer and select the project. Right-click = "source code manager =" "Add to Source Control"

Third, VS connect TFS to do source code manager, each login need to enter the user name and password resolution

For Windows 7, you can add a "Windows credential" under "User accounts and Family Safety", "Control Panel", "Credential Manager".

Iv. workaround for TFS report not subject to source code control errors after reloading the system

1, re-install the system to ensure that the machine name, the source code storage path and the original consistency.

2, if the source code storage path and the original consistency, only need to modify the TfsVersionControl Library of the TFS Database Tbl_workspace table in the Computer field, the original machine name to the current machine name can be changed.

3. Re-map to download a copy of the latest source code.
