Yesterday I bought Thinkpad x230 and pre-installed the win8 system. I was worried that many tools could not run on win8. So I wanted to install Windows 7. At first, I found that I needed to modify the BIOS, to enable the UEFI compatibility mode, you can install win7. The procedure is as follows:
1. Click F1 to go To the bios page.
2. Go to Security-Secure Boot-Disabled.
If you do not change the Secure boot option to Disabled, an error may occur during the boot of the optical drive.
3. Enter the Startup-UEFI/Legacy Boot option. The following two options are available:
(1) The UEFI/Legacy Boot option is set to Both, and the UEFI/Legacy Boot Priority is set to UEFI First, as shown in the First figure. Otherwise, the GPT partition cannot be identified during system installation, the error "driver not found" is reported as shown in the second figure"
(2) Select UEFI Only for UEFI/Legacy Boot and YES for CSM.
If you select UEFI Only, you need to select CSM (Compatibility Support Module) to YES. It can be understood as the UEFI compatibility mode. Windows 7 is installed in UEFI mode. Windows 7 SP1 is required for Windows 7 system disks.
An error occurred during installation:Unable to install to this disk. The selected disk adopts the GPT partition format.
When an error is prompted, perform the following operations:
Shift + F10 enter the DOS Interface
Run diskpart
Select disk 0
Clean
Convert MBR
