Yesterday bought a new Thinkpad x230, pre-installed Win8 system, because the fear of many tools can not run on the WIN8, so want to install Win7, started very not smooth, finally found that need to modify the BIOS, open the UEFI compatibility mode to install Win7, the opening process is as follows
1, power-on Click F1 into the BIOS interface
2. Enter Security-secure boot-disabled
If you do not modify the secure boot option to disabled, you may receive an error while booting the CD drive
3, enter the startup-uefi/legacy boot option, the following have two options
(1) The uefi/legacy boot option is selected as the Both,uefi/legacy boot priority selected as the first image, otherwise the GPT partition cannot be recognized when the system is installed, resulting in the error "Driver not found" as shown in the second picture.
(2) Uefi/legacy Boot Select as UEFI only, csm Select Yes.
If you choose Uefi only, you need to select the CSM (Compatibility Support Module) Yes. Can be understood as a UEFI compatibility mode. To install the Windows7 system using UEFI mode, the WINDOWS7 system CD needs to use the Windows7 SP1 version.
Error encountered during installation: cannot install to this disk. Selected disks are in GPT partitioned form
When prompted for the above error, do the following:
SHIFT+F10 into the DOS interface
Run DiskPart
Select Disk 0
Clean
Convert MBR
