tp-link tl-r406 IP Bandwidth Control function setting method

The following figure shows the interface for the tl-r406 IP Bandwidth control feature.

Broadband line type: ADSL or other lines, please fill in your actual situation line type and bandwidth size (such as 4M ADSL line, downlink total bandwidth of 4000Kbps, uplink total bandwidth of 500Kbps).

Downlink Total Bandwidth: The maximum download speed that can be provided through a WAN, that is, the line bandwidth provided to you by the ISP.

Uplink total Bandwidth: The maximum upload speed that can be provided through the WAN port.

Note: If you want to effectively achieve bandwidth control, you must correctly fill up and down line total bandwidth.

To set specific rules for IP, click "Add new Entry", as shown in the following figure

IP address range: When filling in an IP address, just fill in the starting address or start address and end address the same as a single IP address, starting address and ending address different represents an IP address segment. When set to an IP address segment, it means that all IP addresses in the address segment will share the bandwidth size that was set thereafter, and that the total bandwidth that they can use is constrained by the bandwidth size that is set later.

Bandwidth control: The minimum bandwidth and maximum bandwidth can be guaranteed at the same time, i.e. the maximum download speed limit and minimum download speed are guaranteed by the WAN port, and the maximum bandwidth is 0.

Guaranteed minimum Bandwidth: Guaranteed minimum download speed through the WAN port.

Limit Maximum bandwidth: The maximum download speed limit allowed through the WAN port.

Note that all rules are guaranteed to the minimum bandwidth and cannot exceed the downlink total bandwidth.

IP Bandwidth Control Rule configuration Example diagram:

Guaranteed and limited bandwidth size setting values are not fixed, need to be completed according to the actual application of the network. Here users only need to configure downlink bandwidth, uplink bandwidth according to the downlink bandwidth of the total downlink bandwidth multiplied by the uplink total bandwidth to allocate.

The settings for the above illustration indicate:

1. The user's access type is ADSL, its bandwidth size is 4M (downlink total bandwidth is 4000kbps, uplink total bandwidth is 500Kbps).

2. Rule 1 indicates that the downlink bandwidth of the computer assigned to 192.168.1.100 is the minimum 500Kbps, maximum 1000Kbps, and the corresponding uplink bandwidth calculation rule is "(downlink bandwidth/downlink total bandwidth) * Uplink total bandwidth", so up to the smallest 62Kbps "( 500/4000) *500 ", Max 125Kbps" (1000/4000) *500 ".

3. Rule 2 indicates that the total bandwidth of the three computers allocated to the LAN IP address 192.168.1.101 to 192.168.1.103 is the lowest downlink bandwidth of 1500Kbps, Max 3000Kbps, the corresponding uplink bandwidth is the least 187Kbps, the maximum 375Kbps.
