There are three methods in a wireless router to prevent unauthorized connection to wireless signals:
1. Encrypt wireless signals. After encryption is set, each wireless client can connect to the wireless network only with the correct password, with the highest security level. WPA-PSK encryption is recommended.
PS: the number of key characters required for each key type in the WEP encryption method in the wireless router:
64-bit key: Five ASCII characters and 10 hexadecimal characters
128-bit key: 13 ASCII characters, 26 hexadecimal characters
152-bit key: 16 ASCII characters, 32 hexadecimal characters
2. enable wireless MAC address filtering. By setting rules, only allow wireless clients to connect, and prohibit other users from connecting. For example, only Michael can use a wireless network.
PS: This solution applies to connecting a small number of fixed laptops to a wireless network.
3. Disable SSID broadcast on the vro. After SSID broadcast is disabled, the wireless network card cannot identify the wireless network name of the router, and thus cannot connect to the wireless network.
PS: This solution applies to connecting fixed laptops to the network.
